"Angel!" Crowley tries to keep his voice low but barely manages amidst his distress. It is only the image - burned into his mind like the image of Jesus onto toast, according to some people - of Gabriel, wrapped in a blanket, sitting in the next room and smiling-- smiling! Smiling his clueless, stupid, stupid smile that Crowley wants to wipe off his face so badly. Only the alternative, Gabriel not smiling, Gabriel remembering, would be so much worse.

Crowley does not know what to do. He is clueless but angry, and his anger drives him on. Gabriel is dangerous. He is a danger to Aziraphale, and he cannot stay. If only he could get through the angel's thick skull - had experience not been a better teacher, he might have had hope. Nonetheless, he needs to try.

"This is the supreme archangel of all heaven, your former boss, who tried very hard to cast you into hellfire and destroy you - he is not our friend!" he pleads.

Aziraphale has listened intently to his words, but his reply comes immediately and without apprehension. "I don't really think he has any friends."

"Exactly." Yes! Exactly! He does not have any friends because he is not friendly. That's exactly it. They can agree on that, surely.

Aziraphale lifts a finger in agreement, nodding in comprehension. "Yes, exactly."

...or so he thought. Wait-- His brows close in on each other like two long-separated lovers who also happen to be beavers. "...what does your exactly mean? Exa- I feel like your exactly and my exactly are different exactlies."

"Well, he doesn't have any friends, so he needs us!" Aziraphale's hand sweeps between them as if to make his point all the clearer: us, you and me, us together -- but Crowley's disbelief over what the angel just said makes him miss the little word that drowns between them, uncomprehended. He snaps.

"What I need is for him to be nowhere near me, and the precious-" He draws a breath, the word hurts, "peaceful, fragile existence I have carved out for myself here."

But that's not really what he means. Well, it's true, he does not want Gabriel to be near him. But he especially does not want Gabriel to be near him. Near Aziraphale.

He remembers. It was him, his eyes, who watched Gabriel's inconvenienced, annoyed, careless expression as he sent off whom he believed to be Aziraphale, into hellfire, into destruction, into total annihilation. Into nothing. Shut your stupid mouth and die already. Crowley could never forgive him for that.

He knows that, and he also knows that Azirapahle would. Wouldn't he? This was precisely why they were in this conondrum in the first place, because Aziraphale... was good. And forgiving. He saw Gabriel in need and he was prepared to help him, just like that. He forgave everyone like one of those stupid anime heroes he'd been watching, like, like, a goddamned angel. Which is why he, Crowley, couldn't!

It's dirty work, being a demon loving an angel.

Which is why the next words sting, right in the space where non-demons have a heart. Which he doesn't, he doesn't. Does not. Why does it sting?

"I thought we carved it out for ourselves."

Shit.

"So did I!"

I'm going to be so real I do not understand tim & steph shippers who feel that Steph dating Tim again would save her character. You can make an argument that giving Tim a more compelling love interest would be beneficial for him! And you can at least make an argument that the fujo mischaracterization of Steph would stop. However she'd still, inevitably, be treated as a prop character/extension for someone more popular 😭 it also wouldn't make her appear in more books! Tim doesn't have many frequent appearances at the moment either! You can just say you like the couple and want them back together without acting like you have some kind of moral stance

Hmmm, do you mean opinion about the ship in general or like, unpopular headcanons? :D Not sure if either would fall under the 'unpopular' category, though, I'm pretty bland, I'm afraid!

One thing that comes to mind, though, is that I believe Erik had absolutely no right to lash out at Charles for using the serum in DOFP - and I kind of hate the way they made it look like he was right and like it really was better for Charles to stop using it, even if it meant he couldn't walk. Regardless of his legs, Erik did exactly what he was allegedly fighting against - said that he knew better than Charles how Charles should feel about his powers or how he should use them. And as for his ability to walk, well... he just made it sound like 'yes, I was the reason (however accidental) that you can no longer walk, now deal with it, and oh, by the way, it doesn't matter if you're discriminated against if you're disabled, because when you're not, I'm going to look down at you for losing your powers (which I also wouldn't let you use as freely as you can least you stop me, hence the helmet)'.

I just feel like it was a much more sensitive subject, and realistically I know there simply wasn't enough time to reflect on it in the movie in a different way (probably), but yeah, unpopular opinion, I guess :D

Had a snap response to a distressed sound? "Who was it?! ...right, it's my day off, I can go back to sleep."

Somebody growled at them? "Kid, I'm not a rival, that's my sibling."

Super cozy cuddle session happening nearby? "I'm gonna pass tonight guys, no social battery left, maybe next time."

Group of friends heading out to flirt and check out other singles? "I'm coming with you but only to make sure you all get home safe."

Setting where fated mates or soul bonds or permanent marks are a thing? "Meh. I don't really want one or care if I ever get one."

People in the actual omegaverse would get as bored of their stuff, as we do of ours, you know? It could be interesting to see that kind of vibe in fics. Biological demands faced with all the excitement of paying bills or doing laundry or tying your shoes.

Even if that kind of energy might not drive a plot, it could be interesting to have as a contrast to the people who do have big feelings about them - good or bad.

There's the friends who can't wait til they have a pack of their own, and the one friend who isn't against it but couldn't care less. There's the group in the office who are all about scent compatibility tests and figuring out one's best match and what sprays most highlight it, and the coworker who has no intentions on putting that much effort in. There are parents who hover and protect their offspring by scenting them multiple times a day, and others who don't see what the fuss is as long as it's done in the morning.

...also: packs with introverts who show care by giving each other space. So often, closeness is depicted through physical touch and tactile affection, but comfortable silence is meaningful too. Knowing people are near, but not having to interact until you're ready. Sitting in the same room doing different things, knowing that all it takes is a "hey, look at this" to share what you're up to. People understanding and accepting each other's differing or fluctuating needs for how and when to recharge. Seeing somebody reaching out or sharing space, beyond what's their norm, as a signal of the fact that they care.
